We have a ONE year old!

Dear Claire,

Happy Birthday! You are ONE! Daddy and I have been talking about how much you have changed over the last year and can’t believe a year ago we welcomed you into our family. You have been the best baby and we are so thankful for you every single day.

This past month has been one crazy month! You started walking full time unless you are really trying to get away fast. You want to walk everywhere. You are also into everything you can find. You love taking stuff out and putting things back in. You are eating all table foods and drinking milk and water out of sippy cups. You love playing outside in the water or going to the beach. You are getting lots of teeth this month. Your four top teeth have made an appearance.

Right before you turned 11 months we had to make an emergency trip home from Hawaii to Texas because your Paw Paw had a massive heart attack. We flew through the night on your first trip with Daddy, Uncle Jeremy, and Aunt Nikki. It was a crazy time but I’m happy to tell you that Paw Paw is just fine now and will be at your first birthday party when we go back to Texas in a few days.

We went to the doctor today to check you out. You weighed in at 20 pounds 15 ounces and you are 29 inches long! You are perfect right in the middle! We are going to wait to do your shots until we get back from Texas. You did get blood taken from your finger but you were so good and didn’t even cry until the lady started taking too long!

You are so loved by so many people and we couldn’t be happier to have you as our baby. You are starting to say Mama and Dada more to us. You like to hand us toys and it sounds like you are saying “here”. You let us know when you don’t like something or when you are done eating by shaking your head. You are pretty strong willed and won’t let us help you with some things. You are growing up so fast and we love watching you turn in to a little girl.
