First Thanksgiving

This year we have so many things to be thankful for. The biggest one being Claire. Today we celebrated her first Thanksgiving.

We actually had a Tex-Mex theme today and on Saturday we are having the traditional Thanksgiving feast. Crazy Navy schedules is the reason why we have a change of date.

We started out the day waking up at 6:30. Yes, she slept through the night the night Justin comes home. OF COURSE! She ate and went back to sleep until 9! I stayed up and worked on my homework and let Justin sleep in too. When they got up and I finished my homework we started getting ready for the day. Everyone came over by 3 and it was a great afternoon and evening.

I really love our family of friends we have made in Hawaii. We were talking tonight about how weird it will be when we don't live in the same place. This won't be happening for awhile so we won't have an issue for a few years. We also got great news from a friend. I already knew, but couldn't tell anyone. It's amazing though. Although no one reads my blog that knows them we can't discuss names yet...but next August will be exciting!!! I am really thankful for all our friends here.

A friend of mine from college has a sweet baby, Holden, who went to Heaven before he was able to meet his mommy and daddy. A friend of hers makes jewelry and I recently bought the necklace I am wearing in the pictures from Thanksgiving. This year I am really thankful for her. I have written her and told her but she truly has made me a better mom because of her positive attitude towards life in general. She has been through so much this year and she handles herself in the most inspirational way. Although she might not always want to be, she is always seeing the positive in things and is probably one of the sweetest people. The necklace I am wearing is named "Holden's Nursery" because it's the colors that were in his perfect little room. Claire could not stop staring at it and trying to grab it :)
