What was that, Claire?

...Oh you're about to turn 3? and you think you're SO big? and you don't want to listen hardly ever, unless it has something to do with Daddy? and you're still really lovey and cuddly?

Yep, I think we've found Claire.

She will be 3 next month and going to BIG GIRL SCHOOL with her momma starting in July!

Because of this very large milestone that is quickly approaching we had to make a visit to see the doctor for a school physical. The doctor might just be her least favorite place on the planet. Why? Who knows! They give her stuff to take home. It should be one of her favorite places.

My thought it that she has been traumatized {might be a harsh word!} by the girls being in the NICU and seeing me in a hospital bed. I think she associates the doctor with me not being able to pick her up for 6 weeks, seriously. Still six months later she will randomly ask if my belly still hurts and when I say no, she responds with "Okay, you pick me up". We also switched her doctor, but she wasn't particularly attached to the previous doctor. So who really knows! All I know is I dread taking her alone.

I brought Justin with me this time to help with Claire and the little girls who also had appointments that day. It didn't really help. She still hid from the doctor and refused to speak. She told us she had to go to the potty about three times.

We decided that she is a selective mute, which is hysterical, because at home she can't stop talking.

EVER. Like never ever.

Her appointment went well and she passed her physical to go to school. She weighed in at 31.5 pounds and I forgot how tall her was. She was very cooperative with the nurse and went with her alone to do her eye screening test. She even told her her ABCs. Lucky for her there is a shortage of TB tests so K&K were the only ones who got shots this visit.

Now, Claire has been saying some really funny stuff. Sometimes we are so confused where she hears it and sometimes we hear some things that make us seriously think about what we are saying {and realize we need to watch it!} She is a parrot.

Here are some examples of funny things she has been saying:

• Tutu: "Sit down Claire" Claire: "I can't" Tutu: "You need to sit down on the couch" Claire: "No, I can't because I am the QUEEN!!"
• "I count to 3 and you not come here!"
• "Look thats disgusting"
• "I need food right now! Right now!"
• "You bad to the bone"
• "I just love you sisters"
• "It's not funny! Not funnnnnnnny!"
• "Get in the tub and I wash your hair momma. NOW!"
• "I want to leave and not want to listen"
• Claire: "My choice is the park" Momma: "That is not a choice right now" Claire: "It's not your choice"
• "Why do you kiss our bellies? What a weirdo!" {I've noticed I use the word weird all the time}
• "You the bomb" {no clue where this came from, but I did catch a funny picture of her falling down the stairs after pointing and me and saying this!}
• "This is soooooo funny"

She is a very hardheaded, silly, doesn't forget anything you tell her, fun, spunky, sassy, sweet, creative little girl. I can't believe she is almost 3! Sometimes I have to remember that even though she is the "big sister" she is still little herself. I can't expect her to be able to do everything I ask her...even though she will try her best.
