San Antonio Fiesta!

The first few days of our trip consisted of making a four hour drive to San Antonio from Houston. It was the only time we could squeeze important stop and it was just crazy. We planned to leave earlier in the morning, but three small people put a damper on those plans.

If anyone has secrets to getting up and out the door with three small people, let me know.

Being late annoys me to no end. Having a crazy schedule also annoys me. That is why we always have a schedule so there are limited surprises.

We started our trip shortly after the girls mid morning feeding. They were so good and required no stops. About 2 1/2 hours in they started losing it and it wasn't pretty. We made it to Buc-ee's, got some gas, changed diapers and had a little lunch in the car. Thankfully they went back to sleep as a result of still having some jet-lag for the remainder of the car ride.

We drove straight in to San Antonio to meet a friend of mine/my old teaching assistant and her boys at Rudy's. YUMMY!

Then it was off to see my grandparents. The whole way over to the house Claire was chanting "I'm going to see Grandma Holly!". Wouldn't you know when we arrived she hid and acted like she was scared. That lasted about 5 minutes and she was in full force.

Jumping on grandma, jumping on furniture and running from Bubbie. She dumped a bucket of toys and went to town for the rest of the day. She showed Grandpa how to play on the iPad and how to watch a movie.

We took Grandma and Grandpa to lunch at Corner Bakery, in the rain. You would have thought we were asking Grandma to cut off her arms but she ran right up the ramp with her walker into the restaurant. Grandpa couldn't stop telling people we were from Hawaii and that those babies in the stroller were twins. He doesn't miss an opportunity to brag about his grandchildren. Sweet guy.

Later that day my cousin Bryan brought over his little girl and she played with the girls. It is so fun to watch all these little girls play together. Claire really played well with her and she didn't act like she was unsure.

Of course we went to eat mexican food for dinner. My two of my uncles met up with us and got to meet the newest girls to the clan. Its always good to see everyone at one table.

We got up early the next morning to say our goodbyes thinking we would be on the road more quickly that day. Also because my children obviously think sleeping in a hotel room means the opportunity to have an all night fiesta!

I was exhausted after our crazy fast trip to San Antonio but glad we went. My grandparents are older and who knows when the last time we will see them is.
