We Got Our Wings!

One week ago we took our maiden voyage in a United plane across the Pacific with three kids.

Thankfully that voyage was in a business first seat. {Thanks Pop!} It reclined almost all the way down, the leg rest came up, they give you a nice blanket and pillow {as nice as that can be} and you're on your way!

Claire is a seasoned traveler with multiple international trips under her belt and large amount of flights over the Pacific to count towards her frequent flyer miles account. She went through the checklist of things to do before take off with me...

  1. Get in your seat and squeal about how fun the airplane is.
  2. Touch EVERYTHING within reach.
  3. Watch mommy put away your bags.
  4. Buckle up, unbuckle, buckle again...until mommy has to threaten the flight attendant might start getting so mad we will have to stay in Hawaii and not go up in the air....
  5. Request Skittles to chew on.
  6. Yell "BLAST OFF" as the wheels start going super fast and you feel the plane lift off the ground.
  7. Tell mommy this is so fun and you can't wait to get to CHINA! Sorry kid, we are going to Texas this time.
She was so good this flight. She hasn't been that good on a flight since she was 4 months old. She sat in her seat, didn't try jumping over the seat to the cute twins behind us that Kennedy was winning over with her gummy smile and was quiet.

Seriously, this was a first. It was almost a silent flight from the Brown ladies.

Thanks to Pop's United miles we got to sit in business/first which meant a nice ice-cream sundae before they turned the lights off. Claire ate her ice-cream, informed me she was tired, covered herself with a blanket was out. For 6.5 hours. Amazing.

Tutu was in charge of Kennedy on this flight and I had Kinley. The flight took off right around the time they usually go to bed so I had planned to change them into their pajamas on the plane. It never happened. I was also armed with several toys that never got pulled out of the bag.

These two started their bottles right before we took off and they were done and asleep before we reached 30,000 feet. They were out for the entire 7.5 hours we were making our journey. I did wake them up to drink a bottle as we were headed down, but they fell right back asleep when we landed.

We got several compliments on how well behaved all 3 girls were. I think some people were scared when they saw us roll up in the waiting area with 2 strollers and an arm full of orange bags to stuff our goodies in so nothing got lost or damaged this flight.

Daddy will come be our escort home to Hawaii as Tutu stays here to get her stuff in order to move to South America with Pop. Hopefully the day flight will be just as easy.
