Dear Claire,
Today you turn 8 months old! In eight months you have made huge changes but this month you have become fully mobile! You started by scooting, then army crawling, and now you are crawling on your hands and knees! It is crazy and today while we were watching you move around I almost started to cry. You are also pulling up on everything and anything you can get a good grip on. We have to constantly be watching you for fear that you might fall. I’m sure at anytime you will be up and walking around. Yesterday I got out winston’s puppy gates and put them up so you can’t get into the kitchen or by the stairs. You are starting to cruise around the couch and your crib!
This month you started eating stage 2 foods and we have recently started mixing in table food mashed up. So far you have eaten bananas, avocado, and potato. You also have had the opportunity to try ice-cream at the pool, which you loved. The stage 2 foods are just mixed foods which seem so much better then the plain fruits and veggies. You are also getting some baby food meats.
Another big milestone this month is two teeth have appeared! You got one and then a few weeks later the second one has come along. We knew something was up because you were cranky and very clingy for several days. You also stopped sleeping through the night and we had to get up and bring you into our bed to sleep on one of us. Once we got you settled back down you would go back to your bed. I just hope either your teeth come in quickly and we can get this out of the way or you get use to the process. It’s leaving us all tired, little gir!
We had to lower your crib mattress this month because you were starting to pull up and look over the edge. Mommy found you almost over the crib during nap one day! Now you care barely see over the top which I like! You have started sitting up in your bed during nap time when you are finished sleeping and it is so cute.
This month you are still wearing 6 month clothes with a few 6-9 mixed in. you are yelling at the top of your lungs and like to yell “mamamamamama” which means nothing but the fact that you are making sounds. You have started making different noises too. You still love elmo and mickey mouse clubhouse, bouncing in your jump a roo, and reading books. You like playing with other babies at Gymboree and when we have people over to the house. I’m not sure how tall you are or how much you weigh because we don’t have to go to the doctor this month.
Mommy and daddy
Good-bye
