without kids or Justin!
Justin is going to be going away for awhile and I figured that since I will be mommy and daddy, he could probably handle it for 5 days. And he did. Wonderfully.
I flew to LA on a Wednesday afternoon and met Lydia {BFF since 4th grade} at the airport. Kim and Jared were there to pick us up and off we went to begin our weekend away.
Thursday we were all alone to explore while Kim and Jared worked. We left their house and walked towards Beverly Hills with only a phone and a house key. Apparently, Hawaii has made me so awkward and I don't know how to function in a big city. I was quickly introduced to the Uber app on my iPhone and was able to call a car to come get us with the click of a button.
Lydi and I ventured to lunch and walked to the grove to shop around while they were still working. We ended up meeting Kim for drinks and then headed to the house to pick up Jared for more drinks and dinner at a mexican food restaurant.
Friday Kim and Jared took off and we took our time getting dressed. We went to lunch at a cute little spot, walked down Hollywood Blvd, had drinks at the Roosevelt Hotel and then went to Santa Monica later that day. We went to the pier, shopped, went to happy hour and then to dinner at a yummy seafood place.
Saturday we got up and hiked to the Griffith Observatory where we could see all of LA. We went to Chick Fil A for lunch and drove to Malibu. Happy hour overlooking the ocean was relaxing and then we went to a cute rustic winery. It was yummy!
It was seriously weird not cutting up food for anyone, getting to sleep in past 7 am and not having to change diapers all weekend. It was also way too quiet in their house the first night. I had a really hard time sleeping. I'm thinking for Christmas Justin might get a noise machine because I can see that being a problem for him when he's gone...or maybe not?!?! ;)
