One of Claire's Christmas presents was a gift that keeps giving: Kiwi Crate. Claire loves doing crafts and could sit for hours coloring, using glue, and trying scissors. For her birthday I got her a tub of crafts from Lakeshore. It's a big tub of goodness, but has no real direction, which is great for being crafty. I wanted to get her something that could be just hers and give us some direction in the craft department. The Kiwi Crate delivers just this.
In November I ordered a Christmas box to try it out before I paid for the year. It was so fun! First of all, it was addressed to Claire. She loves getting the mail and obviously can't read, but when we told her she had mail she was screaming with delight. There were gingerbread people, a gingerbread house, ornaments, and a stained glass idea. The box comes with everything you need and even more! Each of our boxes has had stuff left over to add to the closet.
After I saw how much fun this was I decided to order it for the year. In December we got a box full of penguin stuff. Included in this box was a pair of scissors that comes in the first box you get. There are directions for each craft and what you need to complete the craft. Everything comes in the box so you don't need to go find anything! Claire loves penguins and has had so much fun with it! We've made penguin bowling pins and literally bowled for a couple hours last weekend. She kept yelling "your turn", "oh man, try again!", and "this is fun!!".
This weekend we are going to use the oil pastels to make some cards and make some ice in the shape of penguins. I love the Kiwi Crate since it gives Claire something to do with an adult that doesn't involve one of the babies. I think she really likes the attention and one on one time. Something we can't forget to do with her.
Overall, I think this is a great deal for the money each month.
